Soro Soro: Cake for Breakfast
Yeah I ate cake for breakfast today. Why? Because I am an adult, and I can! And it was spectacular. I have to balance out adulting tasks like paying bills and having a job somehow, and what better way than to partake in a delightful treat?
I have been wanting to try Soro Soro for a while, and hadn’t seen latte art like theirs since my trip to New York City two years ago when I visited Sweet Moment.
I tried the rose latte so I could see what cute creation I would get on top of my drink. It was an adorable little bear face!
I wanted to try everything on the menu but I decided to be sensible and only get two desserts (womp womp) and went with the rainbow cake and the regular cheesecake.
The rainbow cake is not super sweet, which is awesome! I could have eaten five! The layers are separated by fluffy whipped cream topping and the sprinkles are surprisingly flavorful! Little pops of joy on top of a freaking rainbow.
The cheesecakes are little animal faces, it was so cute that I almost didn’t want to eat it! But after one bite I had no regrets! So rich and creamy, and it really retained the cheesy tang that I love so much about this perfect dessert.
That was all I could handle today but I will definitely be back! As I was leaving, someone was demonstrating the affogato. It is delicately topped with cotton candy which you then pour the espresso over (or hot chocolate if you are a child) to melt into the ice cream. That is what I will be ordering (the espresso version obviously) next time I visit!
Needless to say, my day started off right! Stop by and treat yo self when you’re next in the neighborhood. Soro Soro is located at 2250 E Burnside St in Portland, Oregon.
