London: Pretty, Sweet, and Pretty Instagram-Worthy Sweet Spots
My first time to London was with a good friend who had lived in the UK previously, and both of us had grown up as punks so we had more of a grunge outlook on the city. When I told her I had a list of cute places where all I wanted to eat and drink for an entire day was caffeine, sugar, and alcohol, I was sure she would die of shock. Thankfully I was wrong, and she obliged because I wouldn’t have known what to do with her body in another country!
First up was The Knot Churros, an adorable cafe with pink hues, florals, and complete with an Instagrammable photo wall with a wicker swing and (my personal favorite) a neon sign.
Turns out, ice cream, coffee, and churros for breakfast is the perfect meal to get pumped up to walk 12 miles around Notting Hill, find all the phone booths, and wander around the Victoria and Albert Museum.
We got americanos and a churro stacked to the max with candy floss, ice cream, sprinkles, and candy pearls. One is definitely enough to share between two people if you are not super hungry. The churros were so crispy and delicious, this treat is perfect if you love sweets and various textures like me!
The next stop was Peggy Porchen, proclaimed to have the best cupcakes in the world, in order to have a slice of cake for lunch! The store front was draped in flowers and painted the most perfect shade of pink. If I ever build a house, I will paint it pink… or black… I haven’t decided just yet but sorry not sorry if we end up being neighbors!
I opted to get my cake to go and eat it outside since it was such a gorgeous day! Plus the view of the shop was too cute not to savor as well.
After a lovely stroll past some rather incredible homes, we made our way past Harrods to El&n Cafe for dinner and a pick me up latte before meeting a friend for drinks at Sketch.
The atmosphere is definitely good for sharing love, whether it is a romantic date or a friend date, it is in the air and as pictured, ALL OVER THE WALLS. The menu was light fare, and a lot of things involved micro greens, which my body was screaming for after all the sugar I had consumed before this.
But I still ordered dessert. It’s all about balaaaaance. And glitter! Which is what was on top of our adorable lattes.
So there you have it! My day of sweets and ridiculously cute and Instagram-worthy cafes in London. Hope you enjoy! Follow me on Instagram to see more destinations and comment below to let me know what your favorite places are to go in London!
